If you are thinking about adding one or more affiliate programs to your web design pages as a means of boosting traffic and sales, you need to be careful in your approach. Unfortunately, thousands of websites are in existence today, loaded with too many banner advertisements that they are actually doing more harm than good. With any website, whether an ecommerce site, educational site, medical site, and so on, you want to maintain content integrity. This means keeping the site clean and efficient. If you begin to place too many banner advertisements and the wrong type of advertisements on the site, you will lose customers, the last thing you want.
Additionally, your web design pages need to be credible. Let us say that you had an ecommerce website that sells leather jackets. You take pride in the quality of leather sold, making sure your customers get only the best. If you were to place an affiliate program in the form of a banner advertisement on your website that led customers to another site where cheap leather products were sold, you have just lost credibility. Your customers would be wondering why if your leather is so great you would steer them in a low-end direction. With advertisements, you have to have a solid relationship as far as quality with the affiliate. Therefore, it would be worth your while to do some research on the affiliate to determine their credibility, which if good, would boost your site. Think of an affiliate program as a strong means of internet marketing, a way to improve your traffic and overall revenue.
